OSHA compliance is an overwhelming challenge, but I'm here to help you make sense of what's required for veterinary facilities. I have over 25 years of experience working in the veterinary field, so I have a working knowledge of the hazards we must train our staff for.
There are no OSHA Regulations written specifically for veterinary facilities, so we fall under the General Duty Clause. All regulations pertaining to veterinary facilites are addressed in my program.
To comply with OSHA Standards for veterinary facilites you should have the following:
- Emergency Action Plan
- Hazard Communication Plan
- Infection Control Plan
- Job Hazard Assessments including PPE requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training
- Job Safety Information
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- Hazardous Chemical Master List
- Staff Training Program and more...
With a strong OSHA compliance program, you will create a safer workplace that is likely to produce fewer accidents and illnesses for your employees. Veterinary OSHA Assistant can help you easily put such a program in place at your facility.
This manual will be personalized to your facility, and is an essential part of your OSHA program.
The contents include:
- A Hazard Communication Plan
- Safety Information from A-Z
- Infection Control Plan
- Job Hazard Assessments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Information
- Emergency Action Plan

"We operate a busy 24/7 hospital and staff training can always be a challenge.
Vet OSHA Assistant allowed us to train our staff without long staff meetings.
It is a comprenhensive program that is tailored for individual learning. Our staff
did the review and test during their shift, thus allowing us to continue to keep the
hospital running.
I would highly recommend this program to all animal hospitals,
it is very user friendly and Karen has been great with follow up to be sure everything
is going smoothly.

OSHA training for your staff will be simplified with this self-paced training program in Power Point format. Each section of the training, and some sub-sections end with a quiz. Hard copies of the quizzes are included for your employees to fill out as proof of training.
An OSHA Training Binder is included to help you stay organized.
Part 1
OSHA Overview, Hazard Communication, Hazardous Chemicals and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Training.
Part 2
Infection Control and Zoonotic Disease
Part 3
Safety Information from A-Z for veterinary facilities.
Part 4
Emergency Action Plan and Workplace Violence Prevention
This training program complements the OSHA Manual described above.
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS's) and a Hazardous Chemical Master List are important for your OSHA compliance
program. This cd contains 300+ MSDS's for products commonly used in veterinary facilites.
View the complete list of products here.
The CD will have a label customized to your facility, and is accompanied by the Hazardous Chemical Master List in a binder. All products are included on the Master List, and if they do not contain a Hazardous Chemical it will be noted as such, which lets your employees know the product has been addressed.
OSHA regulations require that MSDS's correspond to all of the products your employees are exposed to, so if there are any products you use that are missing I will add them.
If you prefer printed copies of the MSDS's in binders, this can be arranged. It's very time consuming to compile the printed copies, so the cost is significantly more than the MSDS's on cd. Please contact me for a quote.
You're almost there with the products offered above, but the following should also be included in your OSHA
compliance program:
- Current Federal and State Compliance Posters.
- Safety signs posted.
- Secondary container labels applied.
- Personal Protective Equipment provided including Safety Glasses, Face Shields, Ear Plugs, and Disposable Gloves.
